I completed both my undergraduate and graduate educations at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. I have over ten years of experience in health care, the last eight of which as an advanced practice nurse. I have a varied background which includes experience in family practice, urgent care, gastroenterology and hepatology, and geriatrics. I have worked across the health care spectrum from hospitals to clinics to short-term health rehabilitation centers to home visits.
The focus of my current practice is on helping patients achieve their highest possible level of health and wellness. While my primary goal would be disease prevention, should it occur, I am passionate about timely and proper diagnosis as well as appropriate management should it become a chronic medical condition.
I am an advocate for patient education and believe true health care cannot be provided in the industry-wide standard 15 minute visit window. I also believe true wellness can only be achieved when you look at the whole patient: body, mind, spirit, and heart. You also cannot forget the element of the family unit as a whole!
I am a native Austinite and graduate from Westlake High School. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, reading, cooking, and being entertained by my Austin Pets Alive! rescues Bear, Finn, and Riley.
